Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Essential: Advanced university degree in medicine and a postgraduate qualification in public health, epidemiology, health sciences or a field related to sexual and reproductive health. Desirable: Ph.D. in one of the above-mentioned fields EXPERIENCE Essential: A minimum of 10 years' of professional experience in maternal and perinatal health research and/or programmes. Demonstrated experience at the international level. Desirable: Field experience in conducting health research in low-or middle-income countries SKILLS Extensive, up-to-date medical and scientific knowledge of reproductive health technologies, appropriate evidence-based interventions, services andprogrammes in the field of maternal and perinatal health. Extensive knowledge of research designs especially clinical and implementation research. Research, analytical and scientific writing skills, as evidenced by an extensivetrack record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the topic area. Ability to produce results and respond to urgent needs. Desirable: Intermediate knowledge of Other UN language. REMUNERATION WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 88,162 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 6575 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
